The Associate Database Administrator is responsible for keeping the company database up and running smoothly 24/7 providing a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
The Assoc. DBA will work on designing and implementing databases in accordance to end user’s information needs and views. In addition to building database systems for the company of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role.
What You’ll Do:
Manage data platform and tools (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, SSAS, Azure Synapse, etc) through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. Configure and maintain servers / platforms and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, backup / maintenance, and security.
Configure and build out the infrastructure required for optimal read/write storage, extraction, transformation, loading, and retrieval of data from a wide variety of data sources.
Provide expertise into architectural decision making around data platform tools, data modeling, advanced analytics, transactional systems, and reporting layers.
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Tune and optimize poorly performing queries and stored procedures. Participate in code reviews with infrastructure and engineering teams.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, tuning existing data objects for performance, etc.
Work with various support and development teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Work closely with engineers / product owners to understand data needs and requirements of production environments while also delivering Business Intelligence solutions that are relayed directly to business leaders
Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university
2+ years experience in a related role
Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server environments (SQL Skills, Database Server Administration, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and Azure SQL (e.g Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory)
Expertise creating objects, performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting scalability issues within Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Server (including SSAS or Azure Analytics)
Experience in delivery and optimization of ETL pipelines and processes
Exposure to data repository, data lake, and data warehouse architecture
Demonstrate efficiency in handling data - tracking data lineage, ensuring data quality, and improving discoverability of data.

Where You’ll Work:
Our headquarters is located in Chesterfield in St. Louis County; however, some local positions will be remote until the time is right to return to the office while other roles are more office-based. Fully remote employees will stay remote.
