We are seeking for a motivated and passionate individual to join us as an Associate Director, Immuno-Imaging scientist, in our Integrated Bioanalysis (IBA) organization within Clinical Pharmacology and safety sciences (CPSS). You will support biomarker discovery and validation, mechanistic studies as well as pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic assessments for critical projects within AstraZeneca portfolio employing imaging and spatial biology technologies within the context of non-clinical and pre-clinical studies. You will work at the forefront of bioanalytical sciences and play a key role in the development and progression of new medicines to the market. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative team player with detailed knowledge of imaging for immunology and inflammation with demonstrated hands-on experience. The position will be based at our vibrant strategic R&D site in Waltham (US) ahead of our move to Kendall Square Boston (US).
What you will do
As an Associate Director, Immuno-Imaging scientist in IBA at AstraZeneca, your main accountabilities will be to:
Proficiency in advanced imaging techniques such as multiplexed immunofluorescence, spatial omics and multi-modal applications
Support immunology portfolio with scientific leadership and focus on spatially resolved target characterization and immunophenotyping via advanced imaging technologies to inform safety, disease pathology and clinical translatability of biomarkers.
Coordinate advanced image analysis support and data generation for portfolio supporting tissue-based imaging activities
Collaborate with cross functional teams e.g. Imaging scientists, Pathologists, In Vivo/Ex Vivo Bioscience, to develop bespoke imaging plans to support hypothesis driven investigations or deep profiling for actionable insight for drug safety and efficacy assessment.
Communicates project results, conclusions and recommendations effectively to colleagues, project teams/stakeholders and collaborators through written reports and oral presentations at internal and external meetings.
Contributes to the publication of scientific abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts and/or patent applications.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all AZ and site-specific policies, quality standards, SOPs, regulatory requirements, Safety Health & Environment (SHE) and Human and Animal Tissue standards (HBS)
