About the Role

In order for the global energy system to make the transition from a carbon-based grid, to a renewable energy grid, large scale energy storage must be introduced into the electricity system to balance intra-hour supply and demand.  Energy storage is the enabler of high penetration variable renewable generation like solar and wind. 

Plus Power is looking to hire a Senior Manager of Product Management to lead and support the commercialization of our proprietary intellectual property into a market leader product which can be utilized to manage the economic dispatch of assets into electricity markets. Commercialization will involve end-to-end project management to connect all elements of the software stack required to create a usable product. The Senior Manager of Product Management will lead a cross-functional team of internal engineers and third-party software providers and will be responsible for maintaining intellectual property rights and managing product/market fit. 

Responsibilities 

• Define the product vision and roadmap for our BESS deployments, energy trading platform and other internally developed software products. 
• Define and prioritize product features that enhance the efficiency, profitability, and risk management of our BESS operations across multiple markets. 
• Work closely with Engineering, Data Science, Trading, Asset Management, Market Analysis, and operations teams to understand user needs and translate them into actionable product requirements
• Lead technical teams to build tools to meet commercial requirements.
• Develop and manage product backlogs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
• Collaborate with external vendors to integrate new technologies and solutions into our platform.
• Conduct continuous market research and competitive analysis to identify procurement opportunities, product differentiation and market expansion.
• Own the product launch process, including strategy, user adoption, and training.
• Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction, gathering feedback to inform product enhancements and future developments.
• Stay abreast of compliance and regulatory changes and technological advancements in the energy storage and trading landscape.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. 

Qualifications  

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in product or project management, preferably within the energy or related technology sector. 
• Experience working with energy trading platforms and familiarity with relevant software tools preferred. 
• Experience with transmission connected power project controls and software is a plus. 
• Proven track record of leading the development and launch of successful software products. 
• Deep understanding of the energy storage market, including BESS technology, energy trading fundamentals, and market dynamics in several North American ISOs with a preference for ERCOT
