Position Description:

As an Alcon Digital Health Intern on the Vision Care team, you will have the opportunity to work on an exciting product portfolio in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Digital products include supporting customers in developing and bringing to customer and consumer experiences, helping evaluate technical features and functionality, learning and compliance management systems, understanding using data and analytics to make product decisions, and much more.

Regardless of the industry solution or theme assigned, you will be paired with a senior-level manager who will serve as your mentor and guide throughout the internship. They will provide valuable insights and support in bringing a product or capability from the concept phase to a fully functional customer software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to develop and execute product strategies that align with Alcon's digital goals

• Assist in the creation of Product Requirements Documents (PRD)

• Contribute to the development of technical sizing, feature prioritization, and release planning

• Evaluate data sets and analyze trends to suggest feature and product outcomes

• Contribute to epics, user stories and acceptance criteria from a technical point of view

• Support engineering scoping activities, including coordinating resources, and deliverables

• Work closely with engineering management, product management leads, designers and testing to ensure successful product development and delivery

In addition to supporting the digital team, you will have opportunities to contribute to one or many of the following areas of focus:

• Business Analysis: analyzing customer feedback and data to identify key themes and insights, using insights to inform a comprehensive strategy and roadmap that aligns with customer-centric needs.

• OKRs and KPIs: understanding the objectives and key results for a set of products, identifying data sources that support the key performance indicators, and working with the data teams to visualize performance and progress.

• Experience and Visual Design: evaluating the user experience and visual design from a data and technical perspective to identify key gaps and areas for modernization, ensuring that the interface is intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly.

• Machine Learning: evaluating machine learning functionality that drive enhanced customer experiences, with a specific focus on customer and consumer outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op. (graduation date of December 2024 or beyond is required)

• Must be pursuing a bachelor level degree in Health Information Management and/or Systems/Software Data Analytics

• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0

• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)

• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)

• Ability to commit to a full time (40 hrs. per week)
