The Role

Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.

 

The incumbent will take ownership of various databases in MSaccess and SQL depending upon experience.  User will interface regularly with group leads and be responsible for coming up with programming solutions to suit change requests.  User will be involved in life-cycle management and upgrading of databases to support on-going technology/programming enhancements.  Will also serve as PC coordinator for the department in a ancillary role.  User needs to have a passion for database programming and a knack for analyzing/learning existing solutions.  Remote work options may be available on a limited basis once the incumbent becomes proficient on dept tools/processes.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience. 

 

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate 
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience 
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
• A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice to Have

• Experience using Microsft Access and VBA, preferred.  
• Experience in MS SQL and SQL server reporting services, preferred.  
• Must be able to work independently and adept at developing solutions to user identified problem.
