We are seeking a Senior Executive Director of Data Science to join our team.

Position Details: 

The Senior Executive Director of Data Science (SED) is a thought leader who effectively communicates complex data and insights to shape conversations, strategy, and policy through compelling storytelling. Utilizing advanced analytics and data visualization, the SED of Data Science leads the data science team in telling Merakey’s story by demonstrating the value, ROI, and social impact of high-quality services, while inspiring curiosity and driving innovation to identify and create new stories to tell.

Utilizing Advanced Analytics and Data Visualization for Storytelling

• Create frameworks and processes for turning data and insights into engaging narratives which promote understanding and action.
• Use demonstrable outcome data and storytelling to support cases to secure and sustain funding and/or alternative funding models.
• Create narratives and visual stories to share data insights that can advocate, persuade, and inform public policy.
• Supervise and mentor data architects, analysts, and other professionals involved in data storytelling.
• Discover stories we’ve yet to tell through data mining/exploration.
• Tailor communication strategies to diverse audiences, including executives, existing and potential funders, policymakers, and the public.
• Enhance Merakey brand awareness through publications and presentations.

 

Using Data and Insights for Strategy Development

• Collaborate with leadership team to align data science initiatives with strategic business goals.
• Partner with Information Technology to design a comprehensive data analytics platform. Provide vision and subject matter expertise for scalable, tech-enabled workflows and dashboards which build and enhance analytic capabilities.
• Support responses to new business development opportunities (RFPs, new business proposals, presentations, etc.) by leveraging data analytics, visualization, and strategic insights to create compelling data-driven justifications.
• Serve as key advisor for enterprise initiatives and executive decision-making. Provide research, data analysis, and consultative support to inform strategic planning, such as identifying successful service models and/or potential opportunities (i.e., gaps in service systems, population needs, etc.) to inform growth strategy.
• Foster a culture of service excellence. Identify best practices and inspire innovative solutions that drive access to equitable, high-quality, and cost-efficient care that delivers better outcomes for individuals and populations.
• Analyze Merakey and public data sets to support Population Health initiatives, identifying gaps and potential strategies.
• Support data collection and analysis for in-house research projects.
• Facilitate partnerships and meaningful collaborations with stakeholders, both internal and external to Merakey, in advancement and support of strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards of data privacy and confidentiality.
• Related duties as assigned.
