Job Description Summary
The Senior Services Director, WFSC, is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the Wilmington Field Service Center in Wilmington, NC. This role provides overall leadership for facility operations, tooling fabrication and refurbishment, and the on-time delivery of tooling and equipment to customer outage sites. The position also oversees key operational functions including safety, quality, maintenance, shipping, import/export activities, and workforce management. In partnership with cross-functional teams, the Senior Services Director drives continuous improvement, tooling quality, and operational excellence in support of Field Services. This role also supports critical site responsibilities, including building operations and participation on the site’s Emergency Command Center. This is a fully onsite position based in Wilmington, NC.Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the compliant and on-time delivery of tooling for commercial reactor outages.
- Oversee safe, compliant operations of the Wilmington Field Service Center (WFSC), including serving as the primary radioactive materials license holder.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety and quality standards across all operations.
- Manage the cost, quality, and execution of the tooling refurbishment process and overall facility operations.
- Lead GVH and contract workforce activities across multiple facilities.
- Drive the overall tooling quality improvement program for Field Services.
- Oversee control rod drive refurbishment operations.
- Manage maintenance of WFSC buildings, grounds, and site operations.
- Lead the tooling development process in coordination with Field Service Engineering.
- Oversee shipping, export, and import operations for Field Services.
- Support day-to-day management responsibilities for WFSC support staff.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery of products and services to customers.
- Manage the employee performance cycle process throughout the year.
- Champion Lean practices, cultural transformation, and technology innovation initiatives.
- Oversee building operations for WFSC and serve on the site’s Emergency Command Center.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regional accredited university/college or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or operations role
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a project leadership or direct people leadership role
- Ability and willingness to pass Fitness for Duty requirements
- Ability to gain unescorted access into areas associated with 10CFR 37 quantities of radioactive material.
Eligibility Requirements:
- This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided) and work onsite daily
- Ability and willingness to travel if needed
- Ability and willingness to hold the radioactive materials license for the WFSC
- Ability to support after hours
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Experience leading salaried, hourly employees, and contractor workforces
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Prior experience leading a P&L
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean training
- Experience in the Nuclear industry
