About the role

Job Overview

Performs professional level work developing, organizing, administering, and evaluating assigned programs and functions, providing guidance and technical expertise to assigned program staff, other departments, the community, and program participants.  Incumbent may coordinate one or more specialized programs.

 

Ideal Candidate

The Program Coordinator – Outreach & Partnerships maintains and nurtures long-lasting partnerships as well as coordinates outreach opportunities that contribute to the Hillsborough County Library’s growth and visibility.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience with coordinating a program or function of a library.

Duties of the Program Coordinator – Outreach & Partnerships position include:

  • Maintaining and managing existing relationships with internal and external agencies

  • Consulting with staff and helping them negotiate and nurture partnerships 
  • Receiving and processing requests for outreach and partnerships opportunities
  • Coordinating the operational details of outreach events, including staffing, materials, and equipment

  • Driving vehicles throughout Hillsborough County to provide library outreach services at a variety of locations including schools, community organizations, government sites, and other partner locations  

  • Representing the library in the community by developing and delivering presentations and staffing informational tables to provide library card sign-up and assistance 

  • Planning, promoting and presenting outreach programming

  • Acting as the library’s ambassador at community events by promoting library resources, programs and services

  • Creating and submitting reports on outreach activities and partnerships
  • Maintaining and communicating policies and procedures related to outreach and partnerships

  • Providing training for library staff 

  • Providing support for library Passport Services, including completing passport acceptance agent training and passing the certification exam annually

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills and will be comfortable with technology including presentation, scheduling and spreadsheet software.

Bilingual skills (speaking and writing proficiency in English and Spanish) are highly desirable.

 

Starting Salary

$46,654 - $60,652

  • Plans, develops, organizes and evaluates work processes to ensure the efficient delivery of program services and fulfill program objectives.
  • Participates in needs assessment data analysis to assist in developing grant applications to obtain funding for assigned projects.
  • Interprets/explains policies, processes, applicable laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines specific to an assigned program to resolve problems, answers program questions, and provides information to current and potential program participants views existing policies, procedures, and directives and recommends changes where necessary.
  • Coordinates action where several organizational entities are involved and follows up
