About the role

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with audits, prepare and reconcile ledgers, and help in the preparation of financial statements. This role involves solving accounting and financial problems, advising on managerial accounting issues, preparing journal entries, and performing analysis of data entry and payment processing.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of accounting, account reconciliation, and financial analysis
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with Momentum-based systems, particularly the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) and Treasury Secure Payment System
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a federal agency
