Servicing Analyst/Commercial Mortgage (Hybrid)

Basic Purpose and Objective  This position will be responsible for monitoring a segment of the company’s mortgage loan portfolio.  The individual will focus on loan performance reports, analysis of property-level issues, track & report on portfolio trends, assist in portfolio data quality control, and conduct limited portfolio activity research. This role will be ultimately titled Assoc II Commercial Lend internally within our organization once a candidate has been selected.

Responsibilities

Operating Statement Analysis
• Check for accuracy – line items are included/excluded correctly and accounted for in the correct account name/heading
• Form an opinion regarding the health of the collateral/loan – track trends in DSCR, revenues, expenses, and occupancy
• Elevate issues to Surveillance committee, VP Servicing and/or Special Servicing as required
• Ownership of issue-tracking; follow-up as needed
Construction Draw Analysis
• Responsible for monitoring construction progress on a portfolio of commercial construction loans
• Reviewing monthly draw requests, including inspection reports and title endorsements, and guiding those requests through the approval and funding process
• Tracking construction budgets and schedules to ensure projects remain within budget and on schedule
Borrower Request Analysis
• Manage requests from borrowers for loan modifications or other changes to existing loans
• Work with borrowers to gather the relevant information needed to support the request
• Analyze the request and prepare an approval memo to document the request, current status of the loan, and reasons for modification
• Guide the memo through the approval process
Deferred Maintenance Tracking
• Gather intelligence related to specific deferred maintenance items on a given property – annual vendor inspection reports, visual inspection by production staff or analyst
• Reach out to servicer/borrower to confirm cost estimate, timeline to cure, document steps taken to date
• Ownership of issue-tracking; follow-up as needed
• Report issue status to Surveillance committee
Special Projects
• Assist in detailed research & analysis
• Assist in required implementation steps and process development

Knowledge/Experience/Education

• 3 years prior experience in a similar analytical role (commercial real estate, corporate finance, commercial banking, accounting, or similar). 
• BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent.

Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience.
