Summary :

The Psychometrist, under the direction of the neuropsychologist, provides technical testing and scoring support, and is an integral team member of the patient’s care team.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Follows the code of conduct of the American Psychological Association and the National Association of Psychometrists.

• Collaborates with the neuropsychologist to effectively and efficiently provide patient testing and achieve the desired outcomes.

• Provides quality service and patient care by preparing the testing environment and reviewing all materials and manuals for test administration. Follows standard work to ensure patient safety.

• Demonstrates a professional and therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and providers.

• Works with the neuropsychologist to reinforce the provider recommendations for testing.

• Provides neuropsychological testing for the purpose of reaching a diagnosis in medical and mental health disorders. Ensures patient’s concerns or needs are met.

• Oversees the ordering of all neuropsychological testing materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health/counseling or psychology

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance

• Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility

• Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
