Summary :
The Psychometrist, under the direction of the neuropsychologist, provides technical testing and scoring support, and is an integral team member of the patient’s care team.Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Follows the code of conduct of the American Psychological Association and the National Association of Psychometrists.
Collaborates with the neuropsychologist to effectively and efficiently provide patient testing and achieve the desired outcomes.
Provides quality service and patient care by preparing the testing environment and reviewing all materials and manuals for test administration. Follows standard work to ensure patient safety.
Demonstrates a professional and therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and providers.
Works with the neuropsychologist to reinforce the provider recommendations for testing.
Provides neuropsychological testing for the purpose of reaching a diagnosis in medical and mental health disorders. Ensures patient’s concerns or needs are met.
Oversees the ordering of all neuropsychological testing materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in mental health/counseling or psychology
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility
Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
