Job Role Summary

The Accreditation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing accreditation projects and activities as assigned for the Marion County Public Health Department.  This position works very closely with the Accreditation Administrator to ensure that the health department meets all of the standards and measures for national public health accreditation.  

Associated Job Duties

  • Thoroughly understand and be able to explain in detail the three PHAB (Public Health Accreditation Board) documents outlining national public health accreditation:  1) Guide to National Public Health Department Initial Accreditation; 2) Accreditation Coordinator Handbook; and 3) PHAB Standards & Measures
  • Work closely with the Accreditation Administrator to ensure all standards and measures for national public health accreditation are met and maintained
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accreditation plans
  • Assist with the identification and development of training programs, as needed
  • Develop and/or update/revise guidelines, policies, and procedures as necessary to ensure all accreditation requirements are met during the accreditation and reaccreditation process
  • Monitor all health department and HHC (Health and Hospital Corporation) protocol to ensure all guidelines, policies, and procedures maintain their suitability for the organization’s needs
  • Coordinate with other MCPHD and HHC departments and programs to ensure all policies and procedures are followed
  • Meet with internal committees and work groups as needed to ensure all accreditation recommendations have been implemented effectively
  • Assist with the PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) Quality Improvement Model training and tracking of results of PDSA activity outcomes
  • Achieve proficiency in the use of AchieveIt tracking software
  • Represent the Accreditation Administrator at internal and external meetings, if requested
  • Work with external agencies and community partners, if requested
  • Competes trainings as appropriate and required including but not limited to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Participates in the response to public health emergencies, as directed 
  • Attend and provide reports to the Health and Hospital Board of Trustees, if requested
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Breech of confidentiality is grounds for termination

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy, or Business, with four years’ experience in program management, or Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or Business, with two years’ experience in program management.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power Point 
  • Valid Driver License and access to a motor vehicle.
