Software Engineering Co-Op

The role will work closely with a team of software engineers developing aviation security equipment, ensuring that security practices are effectively integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Software design and development
• Software tool development
• Test application development
• Writing software design specifications
• Modification of existing applications Software Testing

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Competencies Requirements:

• Junior or Senior currently pursuing BS or MS program in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent

Required Skills and Experience:

• A solid understanding of object-oriented design and development with a strong background in C, C++ , Python
• Familiarity with Linux operating system and general Bash scripts.
• Familiarity with IDE’s such as NetBeans
• Desire to be challenged by complex and routine tasks, problem solving, and decision making
• Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to QT is a plus
• AI/ML course work
• GUI development

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally perform bag run testing on the scanner. Be able to lift up to 35 pound trays
