Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer for a position located in Linthicum, MD to support the Tactical Fighters business unit. This position is 100% on site and does not allow remote work .

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with hardware and software engineers in support of integration and development

  • Develop test scenarios and perform data analysis in MATLAB

  • Utilize test data to refine radar algorithm operations.

  • Support development and integration of radar algorithms to meet system mission and mode performance objectives.

  • Develop software integration planning for system algorithms to model behavior of systems in real-time for a radar platform.

  • Support lab and flight testing as appropriate.

This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • U.S Citizenship is required.

  • A current / active DoD Secret Clearance is required

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).

  • Experience with algorithmic development of aircraft radar surveillance modes

  • Experiencing executing MATLAB scripts

  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Systems

  • Experience with Agile software development (PI Planning, 2-week sprint cycles)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing and running MATLAB scripts

  • Experience working on military aircraft

  • Experience working on design and development of Electronic Warfare (EW) platforms

  • Experience with development of aircraft radar surveillance modes

  • Experience with AESA Radar Tracking algorithms and Tracking architecture

  • Familiarity with Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar platforms

  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)

  • Active SAP Clearance
