The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Technician will support Launch Vehicle Processing of the Artemis Launch Vehicles at Kennedy Space Center. This support will include flight hardware assembly operations, and testing and validations of flight and ground systems. Working in a team environment, candidate will work to detailed instructions and schematics to perform work in all aspects of flight hardware. Technician will be participating in training requirements to obtain all necessary certifications to perform assembly work.
Here's What You'll Need:
The candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and one plus (1+) year(s) of related experience (mechanical or electrical background in aviation or aerospace fields) or equivalent technical training. AS degree is preferred.

Must be able to follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawing and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols. Excellent communication skills are required. Must demonstrate moderate level of proficiency in mechanical or electrical technical operations. Experience in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be able to pass SCAPE physical and maintain a security clearance. Must be able to work Weekends and Off-Shifts, if required.
Physical Requirements
· Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
· Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and other associated personal protective equipment.
· Position will involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
· Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
· Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.
Work Environment
· Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
· Position will require individual to travel daily to different areas on site.
· Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, will be required to access various locations on the facility.
· Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary.
