Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Architect to join our Development Team! Working with a team of designers, developers, and program managers, the Systems Architect will assist to define, design, and review the architectural structures used to develop large software applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in front-end development, back-end development, database structures, network security, and the Software Development Lifecycle. Candidates should have a strong systematic mindset and ability to communicate clearly in multiple technical contexts. Candidates should be passionate about creating innovative applications and platforms, while maintaining attention to architecture, reliability, efficiency, and quality.

Requirements

• Design, implement, and maintain architectural framework and development roadmap for software applications and platforms to meet client requirements.
• Identify software development programs, interfaces, technologies, and resources appropriate for software applications and platforms.
• Ensures security is integrated into all architecture solutions.
• Monitor development process to ensure architectural and framework consistency and that application and/or platform meets project requirements.
• Communicate and update leadership regarding on-going challenges and platform initiatives.
• Be highly collaborative and self-motivated, taking ownership of deliverables and responsibilities.
• Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution when needed.
• Create and maintain platform architecture and technical documentation.
• Maintain consistency in software development methodologies and develop best practices for system scope, design, build, test, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of software development programs, processes, and resources.
• Acts as a subject-matter expert for application and/or platform with the ability to communicate functionality and/or issues in laymen terms to clients.
• Designs new systems and enhancements to accurately address client requirements including development of functional specifications and technical specifications as required.
• Provides expertise and leadership in all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) such as project scoping, requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, migration, and maintenance.
• Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of software applications and platforms.
• Ability to travel (up to 25%).
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of systems architecture or systems analysis experience.
• 10+ years of demonstrated advanced technical knowledge in all areas of front-end development, back-end development, data storage, network security, and quality testing.
• Familiarity with multiple program languages and resources such as AWS, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, React, C#, and Unity Development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of networking protocols and inter-process communication of software modules and containers
• Experience in user experience design for user interfaces/visualizations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex business concepts in non-technical terms.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and presenting technical documentation.
