About the Opportunity

This role is for a Revenue Accounting Manager within the Global Controllership Team. Avaya is transitioning to new business models and is also working through a finance and digital transformation process. This role will focus on changes to accounting processes, controls and audit approach. This is a Full-time position which will allow the successful candidate to develop, learn new skills and lead change in a dynamic environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage/support accounting for software as a service (SAAS) offers and partner with various stakeholders including business finance, sales, operations, legal and global revenue assurance.
  • Working with the new SAP RAR (Revenue Accounting) Module to support ASC 606 Accounting and strong understanding of SAP sales distribution module
  • Maintain controls over Revenue Account reconciliation activities including monitoring & evaluation of any reconciling items being reported at period ending.
  • Ensuring adequate reconciliation and proper support of balances exists and ensuring aging of any reconciling items are understood and cleared in a timely manner.
  • Provide required analysis to support corporate balance sheet reviews
  • Focus on SOX controls and in particular IT related controls for new systems, processes and business models.
  • Be a key part of the month end close process for entities across the organisation
  • Preparation and presentation of training material
  • Internal & External Audit support for multiple countries
  • Support Digital Transformation in the Revenue Area
  • Ad-hoc support or reporting requests from Senior Management

About You

  • +5 PQE. Preferably Big 4 trained/experience
  • Possess a strong knowledge of control frameworks and best in class processes
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or CPA)
  • Strong US GAAP essential with a focus on ASC606
  • US/International Technical Accounting Experience
  • Experience of using an ERP system preferably SAP
  • Strong experience in Excel required / Comfortable in dealing with large volumes of data/Strong Data Analytical skills
  • Automation experience desirable – in particular knowledge of Alteryx
  • Experienced in leading teams and mentoring staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers and subject matter experts)
  • Feels comfortable presenting formally and informally information to senior management.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, team player with excellent ability to diplomatically challenge existing structures and support transformation.
  • Comfortable within a changing environment, enthusiastic and energetic
