A Brief Overview

The Risk Management Associate Analyst is responsible for collaborating with pillars of HR and various business areas of the company to assist with identifying and assessing risk with employment law. The Associate Analyst will support the pillars to ensure adherence to the various employment regulations.

What you will do

  • Conduct research, interpret, and stay abreast of employment-related legislative and regulatory changes and/or developments, analyze their impact to the organization and communicate findings and possible procedural changes to stakeholders.
  • Leverage knowledge of business processes, services, policies and procedures in providing recommendations, making changes, and assisting in supporting issues with HR Management to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with the development of self-testing programs and compliance training tools and quick reference materials
  • Assist with the revision, preparation, and dissemination of new and updated compliance standards and procedures, ensuring regulations are implemented and well documented.
  • Assign remediation plans to pillars and monitor and support through the progress.
  • Participate in the implementation, support, and maintenance of any HR compliance or risk management programs as needed.
  • Interpret and explain HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
  • Lead departmental projects for the HR Risk Management function (i.e. risk assessment, risk and control matrices, employment regulatory changes, etc.)
  • Review and present HR compliance-related training to various levels of the company.
  • Prepare various reports related to HR Risk Management.
  • Collaborate with other risk areas, such as Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance, as new HR policies and procedures are built to ensure alignment with enterprise risk practices.
  • Act as a main resource with the various pillars of HR.
  • Implement a compliance management resource to identify gaps within HR processes and regulations.
  • Train, lead, mentor, and act as a resource to junior employees
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy.

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field
  • A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 3 years may be considered in lieu of a degree

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in Human Resources and/or risk management related fields, such as, Audit, Compliance, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of all risk management principles and practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a limited degree of supervision
  • Display exceptional judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and implement solutions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of statistical or data analysis techniques
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
