About the opportunity:

ING’s Global Capital Markets (“GCM”) team originates, structures, and distributes all forms of public and private debt to our US institutional investor base. The group works closely together with client coverage teams and other product specialists in the ING network and advises on a wide range of funding opportunities in the global capital markets. Working in GCM offers a mix of hands-on transaction experience across industries and deal size ranges. You will work with other team members in the analysis, financial modeling, sourcing, and managing of transactions on behalf on ING’s clients.

As an Analyst in the Early Career Track, you will be rotating across three to four Capital Markets & Advisory (CM&A) teams. The CM&A Early Career Track provides junior talent the opportunity to learn more about core and client facing areas of ING’s CM&A business area. The aim of this program is to upskill talent and prepare you for future roles in our organization. During the program, you will get hands-on experience of what is involved in the day-to-day role as a junior team member in the Corporate Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Loan Distributions and Acquisition Finance teams.

ING is seeking professional level employees that are keen to start or progress their careers in the investment banking industry. The analyst will begin their rotation on the GCM team, working and developing in products areas that are often integrated to service ING’s global client base: (1) High Yield & Investment Grade, (2) US Private Placements, and (3) Ratings Advisory.

High Yield & Investment Grade

The High Yield (HY) and Investment Grade (IG) desks work closely with coverage bankers and other product specialists in the ING network advising on capital structures and funding opportunities, and marketing and executing bond transactions for debut or repeat corporate and sponsor-owned issuers, projects, or event driven situations. As an Analyst, you will provide direct support to senior DCM originators with the aim to win new bond mandates and maximize bond related revenue, assisting in building pitch decks and other marketing materials. The Analyst will also work closely with the syndicate desk to coordinate and prepare multi-currency pricing updates.

US Private Placements (USPP)

The USPP desk originates and executes transactions supporting ING’s client base, which are distributed across a wide range of sectors and geographies. USPPs are long-term financings sold to institutional investors, primarily US insurance companies and asset managers. As an Analyst, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the transaction, often interacting with both investors and corporate issuers. The USPP team works with ING’s worldwide network of bankers and professionals who manage the bank’s client relationships. The analyst position will entail both origination and execution responsibilities. The origination aspect entails preparing pitch materials for client meetings which market the bank’s capabilities as well as market information such as deal structure and pricing. Execution phase responsibilities include preparation of comparable and pricing information and communication with institutional investors.
