Engineering Manager, Foundations

Tecton’s founders developed the first Feature Store when they created Uber’s Michelangelo ML platform, and we’re now bringing those same capabilities to every organization in the world.

We have a fast-growing team that’s distributed around the world, with offices in San Francisco and New York City. Our team has years of experience building and operating business-critical machine learning systems at leading tech companies like Uber, Google, Meta, Airbnb, Lyft, and Twitter.
You will be the first Engineering Manager of our new Foundations team. The Foundations team’s charter is to accelerate engineering velocity at Tecton by taking stewardship of and driving improvements to core infrastructure, frameworks, and developer tooling. This team will play a critical part in enabling the company to meet our goals for this year and beyond, by making all engineers at Tecton more productive.

Responsibilities

• The foundation's team will be responsible for improving engineering productivity across the entire company. Technical components primarily owned by this team include:
• Our Orchestration and API frameworks 
• Testing infrastructure
• Developer tooling 
• As the manager of this team, your responsibilities will include:
• Growing the team by a combination of internal transfers and external hiring
• Establishing clear growth expectations and a career development plan with every team member
• Setting the technical direction for delivering on the roadmap.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of people management experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical leadership of a Platform/Infrastructure/Developer tooling team
• Minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience as an IC or manager
