Bloomberg Media is looking for a highly skilled Broadcast Audio Operator to join our Overnights team. You will have deep technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to think critically in real time. You’ll play a central role in our live control rooms, working directly with on air talent, technical operations, engineering, and editorial partners globally to ensure a polished, engaging, and technically flawless audio experience.


An Audio Operator at Bloomberg plays a key role in delivering a clear, consistent, and high-quality listening experience across all broadcasts.


We’ll Trust You To:


  • Perform confidently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced, live broadcast environment
  • Lead audio execution during live programming, ensuring clear, balanced, and consistent sound quality
  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot complex audio systems, including digital mixing consoles, signal routing, mix-minus, intercom systems, microphones, IFB units, and related broadcast infrastructure
  • Mix multiple studio anchors, in-studio guests, remote contributors, music elements, and recorded content simultaneously
  • Apply advanced sound engineering techniques including EQ, gain staging, compression, and delay adjustments to optimize program sound
  • Maintain situational awareness of breaking news developments, adjusting audio needs dynamically in real time
  • Understand and anticipate live news production flow, editorial intent, and timing demands
  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, engineering, and fellow operations teams to execute seamless broadcasts
  • Clearly communicate technical issues and solutions with team leads to minimize disruption and maintain broadcast integrity


You’ll Need to Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a live broadcast environment
  • Strong working knowledge of live studio and control room operations
  • Willingness to regularly work overnight shifts (8pm–5am), as well as weekends and holidays
  • Ability to remain focused, composed, and decisive in high-stress, fast-moving situations
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills

  • ENPS (workflow familiarity)
