Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to be based in Houston, Texas. This position will be responsible for assisting Project Engineers with planning, designing, and documenting civil engineering projects, such us highways, bridges, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure.
In this role, the Intern will assist Engineers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments. The Intern will work on a variety of projects pertaining to transportation.
This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Project Team by providing design support (reports, design calculations, and quantity and cost estimates) for roadway, hydraulics, and civil engineering design projects.
- Assist with the preparation and production of reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Work as a contributing member of a design team.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
- Candidates must have completed 1 year of study in their program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing highway/roadway and storm drainage systems.
- Familiar with MS Office 2010 software (Excel, Word, and Project).
- Team player with excellent communication skills.

- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range is $16.52-22.71/hour (non-exempt).
