Senior Software Engineer - Core (Czechia)

<span>We are looking for a </span><b>Senior Software Engineer</b><span> to join the development team behind </span><b>Azul Zulu builds of OpenJDK</b><span>, one of the most popular OpenJDK builds in the world.</span><span>Along the OpenJDK builds, we are responsible for Azul Mission Control (ZMC), ZIUpdater,.. and other related projects.</span><span>We also have a considerable impact on Java development and the whole Java community.</span><br/>Your presence in Czechia and valid working visa is required for this role. <h3>What You'll Do</h3> <ul> <li>Contribute to the functionality, quality, and timely delivery of the builds of OpenJDK.</li><li>Design and implement new product features and enhancements.</li><li>Participate in OpenJDK development.</li><li>Provide technical expertise to field engineering and customer services.</li></ul> <h3>What You'll Bring</h3> <ul> <li>Strong proficiency in C/C++ </li><li>Core Java understanding (just a plus).</li><li>Experience with at least one scripting languages: sh/bash/ksh, powershell,..</li><li>Good understanding of operating system concepts: file systems, networking protocols, processes, IPC,..</li><li>Familarity with tooling: debuggers (gdb, windgb,..), profilers.</li><li>Solid understanding of basic Computer Science concepts (data structures and algorithms)</li><li>Experience in low-level and system programming is a big plus: concurrent programming, synchronization, memory management, languages runtimes, memory standard libraries,..</li><li>Familarity with programming for Linux/Windows/macOS, Solaris is a plus.</li><li>Experience with assembly for x86/Arm is a plus.</li><li>BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent</li></ul> <h3>What We Offer</h3> <ul> <li>Equity Program - be part of the company success.</li><li>Annual bonus based on company performance.</li><li>Referral Program - bring your colleague we would all love to work with.</li><li>IT Equipment - MacBook Pro or any other HW according to your preferences.</li><li>Work-life balance - 5 weeks of holidays, 5 sick days, flexible working hours, 100% work from home also possible.</li><li>Offices in Prague City Centre - if you prefer.</li><li>Most importantly you will work with top experts worldwide who contribute to the Java ecosystem</li></ul>
