Position Requirements

Educational Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• CAMS, CFE or other equivalent industry certification/license preferred

Knowledge Requirements

• Four or more years of brokerage or financial services industry or related experience with a focus on fraud, BSA/AML investigations, audit, or risk management strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of brokerage operations, banking operations, risk management, investigations, forensic accounting, business, finance, fraud or anti-money laundering a plus.
• Must have strong working knowledge of major Operations and Compliance functions, specifically the movement of funds and securities and related regulations.
• Requires knowledge of BSA/AML and Sanctions Firm Policy, applicable regulations, audits, risk management and internal controls.

Skills/Abilities

• Strong analytical skills – combining information from multiple sources – to conduct investigations, recognize fraudulent activity, interpret results and apply regulations and appropriate guidelines to reach independent conclusions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to collaborate with branch personnel, home office associates, and external parties.
• Ability to apply a risk-based approach is critical as decision making is complex, non-routine, and may have a direct impact on the client, financial advisor, and firm.
• Analyze activity and respond to inquiries on escalation issues, including requests from auditors, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or internal groups such as Compliance, Legal, or Resolution.
• Ability to deploy techniques to build rapport and trust with potential victims effectively is imperative to protecting clients from monetary loss, and equipping law enforcement with information to pursue criminals through SAR/STR filings.
