HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY...

As part of our commitment to innovative value creation we are seeking a Senior Scientist, DtV Snacks, to join our Design to Value (DtV) team within R&D.

This role will serve as a technical leader driving DtV initiatives across the Snacks portfolio. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a consumer-centric mindset and innovative thinking to deliver cost-optimized, high-quality products that preserve brand equity and delight consumers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO...

  • Lead technical execution of DtV projects from concept through commercialization.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Consumer Insights, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Quality to identify and implement value optimization opportunities.

  • Apply food science, formulation, packaging, and process knowledge to redesign products and processes for improved cost efficiency and consumer satisfaction.

  • Use sensory, analytical, and consumer data to validate changes and ensure product quality.

  • Champion DtV principles within the product development lifecycle, influencing early-stage innovation and renovation.

  • Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to identify new technologies, and ingredients that support DtV goals.

  • Benchmark competitive products to identify cost and value opportunities

  • Present business cases for DtV projects to senior leadership.

  • Create cost models to evaluate the financial impact of formulation, process, & package changes

  • Support the development of reference standard prototypes and iterative testing to guide decision-making.

  • Project Leadership: Manage multiple DtV projects with clear business cases and financial targets.

  • Technical Execution: Conduct bench work, pilot trials, and support plant validations to deliver DtV solutions.

  • Ideate New Ideas: leverage technical food science, formulation, packaging, and process knowledge to help identify opportunities for cost savings or growth through consumer centric value design.

  • Data Analysis: Interpret sensory, analytical, and consumer data to inform product decisions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to align DtV initiatives with brand and category strategies.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all formulations and processes meet regulatory and quality standards.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH...

This role is an individual contributor reporting to the Sr Manager R&D Enterprise Design to Value. They will work closely with M&B Sr Scientists to ensure consistency across the enterprise. They will also work with category leads within snacks, as well as other scientists.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE... (Must Haves)

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field paired with 7+ years of experience in food product development, preferably in snacks or related categories, OR a Master's Degree paired with 6+ years of experience.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional technical projects.
