Job Description
The Field Services Engineer is dedicated to resolving consumer quality field concerns timely and cost effectively. This role will perform sample investigations to determine root cause and issue corrective actions while regularly interacting with internal and external customers. Field Service Engineers will have a specialty within one of the Fortune Brand companies.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Handling daily field returns for any of the Fortune Brand companies
- Developing and performing standard and testing as required to determine facts regarding returns
- Integrating with the CAPA process to initiate long term corrective actions
- Monitoring the field issues to ensure they are being resolved in a timely manner
- Work with sales and transportation to gather and send replacement materials to end customer
- Work with vendors to ship replacement materials when appropriate
- Serve as a point of contact for Customer Service and Sales Team questions
- Responsible for field service remediation for onsite inspections and repairs
- Identifying trends in occurrences of quality issues and creating a monthly report
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service engineer role, preferably in consumer electronics or IoT devices.
- Hands-on experience working with SDKs, APIs, and custom software solutions for consumer products.
- Proficiency in Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, and Bluetooth technologies for device communication and integration.
- Metrology experience with basic tools such as calipers, micrometers, and comparitors
- Ability and willingness to travel 10-20% of the time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong electrical engineering background with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and wireless communication protocols.
- Experience with programming languages and scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.
- Hubspot reporting and tracking proficiency
- Ability to use ERP systems
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is x $63,000 - $110,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
