Production Supervisor

Location: Shullsburg WI 

Job Title: Production Supervisor (2nd shift) 3:30pm-12am Monday - Friday

Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the plant on 2nd shift. This includes overseeing both packaging and production departments. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Train and manage production staff to ensure that packaging and production processes run smoothly and efficient. 
•  Ensure that all sanitation activities are completed according to SOPs
•  Monitor chemical and cleaning supply inventories and complete necessary paperwork.
•  Assist with preparation for plant inspections.
•  Manage staff to assure that production start-up is in a ready state. This includes staging production supplies, monitoring schedules, staffing and all tasks associated with filler start-up.
•  Assist with the management of: milk receiving operations, staff scheduling, equipment monitoring, GMP compliance, and staff training as necessary.
•  Work with mgmt. and HR to counsel and discipline employees if warranted. 
•  Assures compliance with established quality and sanitary standards and takes corrective action if there are deficiencies.
•  Critically evaluates all work rules and regulations and takes corrective action regarding any potential safety hazard.
•  Exercises good judgment and discretion in the use and care of company assets under his/her supervision.
•  Assist with employee complaints and resolve conflict.
•  Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualification/Requirements:

•  Must have three or more years of supervisory experience or 5 years of related work experience.
•  Ability to maintain confidentiality
•  Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
•  Must be able to work well with others and as part of a team.
•  Must possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
•  Must be willing to work flexible hours when required
• Must have cheesemaker license or be willing to obtain through employer sponsored program
•  Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.
• Prefer background in food/beverage manufacturing industry

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently and, up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Requires visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. At times, there may be sufficient noise that causes the worker to shout in order to be heard. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions.
