JOB SUMMARY
Provide project management oversight to business, process and performance improvement efforts across Utility Operations. Assigned projects are typically of short duration and can be very quick turnaround. Project teams comprised of analysts and engineers from within the Planning & Process Assurance group, SMEs from across Distribution Operations and Asset Management, other Utility Operations groups, and from other Business Units. This position is responsible for clear communication of expectations, project deliverables and timelines to team members, quality control on deliverables and conformance to department processes to ensure successful completion of projects. This position is also expected to be a working member of project teams, providing technical and analytic participation based on prior experience. This position can expect to have frequent interaction with senior and executive management, as well as field operations personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Performance Measurement and Data/Analytics personnel and other SMEs to deliver process improvement plans and programs and other initiatives as assigned, based on best practices, root cause investigations, data analytics and other research and analysis practices.
- Plan, monitor and manage range of internal projects from initiation through completion, ensure on-time completion according to specifications. Likely responsible for multiple projects of various sizes and subjects concurrently.
- Support quantification of benefits through performance metrics and monetized value.
- Lead cross-functional teams focusing on process improvement in all aspects of the Utility Operations business.
- Provide regular updates and interface with project sponsors and internal customers to assure alignment on project direction, deliverables, and schedule.
- Manage relationships between departments and business units during project analysis and execution.
- Secure required resources, and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes.
- Develop professional quality presentations of results and recommendations, persuasively communicate insights and conclusions, and provide briefings to other groups and upper management (including OCE-level presentations) as requested. Responsible for Quality Assurance program and conformance with department processes related to project execution.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- MBA preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
- 3-5 years experience in Operations Management or Project Management.
- 5 years of commercial contracts experience in the energy/utility industry, strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience in design engineering, system planning, field Operations or construction.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Strong interpersonal, leadership and analytical skills. Experienced in project management roles. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detailed oriented and possess excellent organizational skills. In depth understanding of utility regulation and RFPs.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
Project Management Professional certification desired.
