Early Career Structural Engineer

Our Nuclear Programs is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy as well as commercial nuclear companies; we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup, production and power generation sites. We’re looking for an Early Career Structural Engineer to participate in the design process, assisting in developing design calculations, design drawings, and construction specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry. Your work will be supporting the Oak Ridge, TN office. Qualifications:

• Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
• B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school 
• 0-3+ years of post-education experience
• Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate obtained or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
• Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant
• Ability to learn new software as necessary for project success
• Competence using Microsoft Office software
• Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation software

Work Location:

This position be worked full-time in Oak Ridge, TN.

Essential Functions:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS U.S. Citizenship required. 
 

Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

Compensation Details:

$70,.000 - $95,000
