Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist the Oxfam America (OA) Technology & Information Management Department by providing technical support for end users, run routine maintenance, document & maintain TIM processes and work on TIM projects.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain real world experience at our global headquarters in Boston, MA. Gain hands on experience in an IT position, shadow and train with knowledgeable IT professionals at an International NGO.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance in person or through our helpdesk system.
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received in IT help desk system. Triage tickets to the team as needed.
- Support team with all project related activities including coordination and documenting.
- Responsible for collecting, testing, configuring, mailing and upgrading IT equipment as needed.
- Support IT team in maintain hardware, software and other systems as needed.
- Maintain IT documents.
- Help with dismantle and decommission IT equipment.
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
- The intern must be available to work in person in the Boston office from 20-35 hours a week during normal business hours (9am to 5pm).

Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in computer science, information systems management or related work or equivalent combination of work experience, education, and training.
- Self-motivated, Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Very good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to listen and troubleshoot systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Familiarity with MS Office suite, Windows 10 and 11 OS
- Experience with customer service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or education in systems and/or organizational management
- Knowledge of the field of international development
- Basic understanding of windows Active Directory services.
- Knowledge of Ticketing System (we currently use ServiceNow)
Additional Information
This position will pay a minimum of $15.00.
