About the role
Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
EDUCATION DESIRED: BS in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related fields, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manage HRL's Internal Audit Program, including the training and scheduling of internal auditors.Administer HRL's Corrective Action and Improvement Program, including the use of root cause analysis tools to facilitate investigations.Oversee the Quality metrics for all AS9100/ISO departments, including administration of HRL’s annual Customer Service Feedback Survey. Update and administer training associated to focus areas of corrective actions and improvements, and internal audits.Works with all parts of the company to maintain and improve the QMS set in place with AS9100, MIL standard requirements and for transition of new initiatives. Cross training on other elements of the QMS to support Quality team as back up.May be required to access the clean room.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Working within a formal Quality Management Systems (QMS), such as AS9100/ISO 9001. Managing company internal auditing program.Leading company corrective actions and improvement program.Facilitating problem solving using root cause analysis tools (i.e., 5-Why, Ishikawa).Preparing and undergoing 3rd party AS9100/ISO9001 audits.Developing training materials associated to primary responsibilities and administering per schedule.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:Application of industry standards, i.e., AS9100/ISO9001Root cause analysis tools and applications Creativity in applying QMS to an environment which includes varying program levels (R&D to Flight).Organized, detail oriented with demonstrated time management and analytical abilities.Collaborative with teams and customers.Self-directed, flexible and able to manage multiple projects. Technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Onsite work is required.Physically capable to work within a class 10 Clean room.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
