SSCI is looking for a Lead Software Architect for projects in the areas of autonomy, active perception , and unmanned systems. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for U.S. Dept. of Defense Security Clearance.

Responsibilities
- Using a broad spectrum of tools and technologies, lead the design of critical system architectures in the area of autonomy for multi-domain aerospace distributed systems.
- Responsible for the high-level systems software architecture. The selected individual will lead and work alongside an integrated engineering team to:
- Develop and implement high-level system software architectures, including requirements development.
- Lead teams in the implementation and integration of system and software designs.
- Develop system requirement specification for the overall system including verification plans.
- Support system modeling, design analysis, operations analysis, and requirements decomposition in support of system design.
- Review specifications, requirements and other engineering documents.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and key contributor on proposals.
- Effectively chooses the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products, e.g. nightly build processes.
- Performs or leads the development of technical strategies and teaming strategies on multiple projects within SSCI.
Requirements
MS with 12-15 years experience or BSc with 15-20 years experience in Software Engineering and System Architecture
Required Skills/Experience
- 5-7 years of successfully leading and delivering unmanned vehicle autonomy software.
- Specific background and expertise in autonomy stack.
- Experience with systems and software engineering processes (software planning, design development tools, configuration management, test and QA methods, ISO9001, CMMI).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Experience with real-time small unmanned aerial system autonomy software highly desired
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with Distributed Data Infrastructure and Cloud Enterprise Software (SQLite, Cassandra, AWS)
- Experience in Human Systems Integration (HSI), Multi-Vehicle Tasking, and/or Mission Planning for Unmanned Systems,
- Experience with cyber-secure embedded systems
- Experience with mission payloads (integration, operations) for unmanned systems
- Experience with NVIDIA processors and CUDA highly desirable.
