Position Title: Human Resource Generalist                                                      Reports To: Vice President, Human Resources 


Summary: The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department focused on hiring and interviewing, benefits, and leave, administering pay and enforcing company policies and practices. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Full cycle recruiting support, interview scheduling, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions through our human resource information system. 
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. 
  • Assist with onboarding process from offer through orientation. 
  • Administration of employee leave of absences, temporary disability leave, ADA and work
    accommodation requests, workers’ compensation claims, working closely with third-party leave
    vendor and in accordance with company policy, and state and federal laws. 
  • Serve as employee point of contact for questions regarding benefits. 
  • Manage the payment processing of all monthly benefit plan invoices, including auditing each
    month for accuracy. 
  • Participate in annual Open Enrollment process, including the selection of benefits and training
    facilitation. 
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training,
    continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment
    training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and
    recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in
    human resources, talent management, and employment law. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager as reasonably related to position. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required or equivalent work experience. 
  • Two plus years of human resource management experience preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong initiative and follow-through are required. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management
    systems. 
  • Ability to articulate ideas, issues, and recommendations.
