Operations Intern

Internships Expectations

Start: June 3rd
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Hours per week: 15-25

Your Responsibilities

- As an intern, you will be assigned to a key project that you will manage during the internship. Results will be presented to the leadership team at the end of the internship program.
- Providing support to the assigned department. 
- Develop improvement concepts and present them to the leadership team.
- Work “hands-on” and spend time with supervisors along with co-workers to understand business processes and challenges.
- The project objective is to develop job-specific on boarding training materials for different jobs in a re-packaging facility. This project will require learning and documenting the process, then creating material and training checklists to ensure that an operator is proficient on a job before working unsupervised.
- An additional project objective is to help develop a pre-production material staging process so that all production components are accounted and verified before they are taken to the production line. In this project, you will create work instructions, perform time studies, utilize Lean tools and work closely with operators and supervisors to create a robust process.
 

Education Requirement

- Actively pursuing associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in business administration or industrial, mechanical, manufacturing engineering field in an accredited program 
- Current GPA 3.0 or better
 

Experience

- Prior work experience in a manufacturing company is preferred, but not a must

Required Skills

- Project management as well as strong organization and communication skills
- Willingness to take responsibility for projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel. Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to multitask in a collaborative team and office setting
