Job Summary
This role functions as a high-level collaborator and practice integrator, creating bridges and alignments between DEI and the unified mission, vision, and values. As a member of the Vice Dean for Finance and Administration’s leadership team, the AD uses specialized knowledge to both execute and provide insight on projects that impact divisional culture and a sense of belonging. This person also works under the direction of the Vice Dean to manage processes that make the office’s work more efficient.
Responsibilities
- Serves as senior staff administrator overseeing division-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in collaboration with faculty DEI deans.
- Partners with BSD/UCM faculty and staff leaders to research, create, and facilitate interventions that address enterprise-wide bias reduction and culture change.
- Designs and implements metrics, monitoring and reporting systems to benchmark organizational progress in DEI management effectively.
- Reviews and analyzes workforce data and reports to develop strategies, approaches, and prioritization for diversity program development and implementation, creating executive-level reports and summaries.
- Collaborates to identify and leverage key metrics and targets for DEI, identifying opportunities to promote inclusive practices and communicating insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Researches, creates, and facilitates training programs to educate BSD constituents on practical diversity, equity, and inclusion methods, promising practices, and programs.
- Supervises staff and operations of BSD’s Office of Diversity & Inclusion.
- Develops strategy, programs, and practices that integrate and socialize the BSD/UCM/PSOM’s unifying mission, vision, and values across the enterprise.
- Partners with academic and other administrative units to foster alignment and ownership of the MVV, with a focus on how teams can live out those values.
- In collaboration with UCM/BSD Marketing and Communications and HR, implements strategies to internally embed MVV. This includes, but is not limited to, creating a visual culture of inclusion and designing programs and initiatives that aid constituents in feeling connected to the enterprise.
- Collects data and feedback via surveys, focus groups, exit interviews, and other means to assess staff, faculty, and trainee experience, continuously improve practices, and sustain successful initiatives.
- Shares data and feedback with key stakeholders via reports and works collaboratively to develop action plans for addressing trending issues uncovered from feedback.
- Collaborates with internal communications to ensure consistent and transparent communication of culture-related initiatives and messages.
- Partners with HR to drive talent development, performance management, and succession planning initiatives that support the BSD’s values.
- Provides strategic advice and counsel to the Vice Dean for Finance and Administration on matters related to administration and organizational governance, leveraging MVV and diversity, equity, and inclusion promising practices and insights to inform decision-making.
- Leads special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Vice Dean, overseeing project planning, execution, and evaluation to ensure successful outcomes and alignment with organizational priorities.
