What You'll Do
The Finance Manager, Strategic Wholesale will help develop and guide strategy and oversee the budgeting, forecasting and analysis of Wilson’s key US Wholesale Accounts. This role will be focused on US Wholesale profitability and building out full P&L analysis at the customer/account level and will be responsible for implementing the strategies into financial plans and measuring results against targets and KPIs.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
STRATEGY
- Work with the National Accounts teams to build detailed plans for sales, customer deductions (gross-to-net), and SG&A that support the current year and long-term strategy.
- Partner with leadership to optimize earnings through ongoing assessments of opportunities from gross-to-net-revenue and National Accounts SG&A.
- Support changes in National Accounts pricing strategy; track and report on progress.
- Partner with National Accounts leadership in developing strategic glidepaths and aligning glidepaths across Business Units.
- Develop business case template for customer opportunities – inclusive of projected revenue, margin, and investments to support growth at the customer level.
BUDGETING/FORECASTING
- Partner with Business Units and US National Accounts team in sales and margin budgeting and forecasting, creating alignment across the US Wholesale Channel and product categories.
- Responsible for building annual spending budgets as well as monthly/quarterly reforecasts for US National Accounts, confirming budgets support overall company strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and report on the relationship between consumer sell-through and retailer inventory positions to help drive forecast accuracy.
- Provide insight into the development and tracking of sales compensation/incentive plans for National Accounts.
ANALYSIS
- Develop full P&L analysis for National Accounts.
- Enhance and lead company-wide Customer Profitability reporting processes.
- Monthly review of financial results and performance against targets and history, with emphasis on US National Accounts contribution. Analyze and report on sales, margin, and SG&A variances for National Accounts. Understand the impact from customer mix, product mix, and other key drivers such as pricing, standard cost, trade terms, discounts, charge backs, and allowances.
- Work closely with the Financial Controlling, Credit, and Accounting teams to create transparency around customer accruals and make sure customer deductions are recorded consistently, accurately, and timely.
- Provide Ad Hoc financial support and analysis to key stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration plus at least 5 years’ work experience in an accounting or finance environment, including a minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team or a function. Experience in the wholesale and/or consumer products industries preferred.
