Responsibilities

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist I (PRN), internally referred to as our Rad Tech I at St Mary’s Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. Focus will be on conducting diagnostic X-ray procedures, which involves operating X-ray equipment to capture images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. An important role in assisting healthcare providers by producing high-quality images that aid in diagnosing medical conditions and formulating treatment plans for our patients. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • perform Diagnostic Radiographic or other procedures according to department protocols
  • responsible for ensuring that X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed
  • interact with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations
  • maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical history
  • stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certification
  • operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images
  • maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING: 

  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • currently attending an accredited health care educational program for radiologic technology
  • meet state requirements for exemption from licensing to operate x-ray equipment. Documentation of state exemption required in personnel file
  • completion of their first year curriculum requirements
  • current BCLS (AHA)
  • at least one year of clinical experience in the radiology technologist program required
  • proficient computer skills
