In this role:

In this role, you will strengthen the security and compliance posture of cloud services hosted on Azure and Power Platform. You will conduct detailed security assessments, identify and document risks, guide engineering teams through remediation, and use automation to improve the efficiency of compliance workflows. This position requires hands-on technical skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across security, engineering, and compliance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Security & Risk Assessment

  • Perform in-depth security and risk assessments for cloud services built on Azure and Power Platform.
  • Identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance gaps, and record them in the Risk Register.
  • Ensure all risks are accurately linked to remediation tasks and tracked through closure.

Remediation & Engineering Engagement

  • Partner with engineering teams to drive mitigation progress and validate completed fixes.
  • Provide hands-on remediation support and host office-hours-style guidance sessions.
  • Standardize remediation steps and create reusable documentation/playbooks for future scenarios.

Compliance & Telemetry Analysis

  • Analyze compliance and security telemetry using Azure Data Explorer (Kusto).
  • Produce insights, dashboards, and reports that help quantify risk impact.
  • Support ongoing security and compliance campaigns across the organization.

Automation & Workflow Optimization

  • Build or enhance automation for compliance validation, risk tracking, and remediation processes.
  • Support integration of secure engineering practices into CI/CD pipelines.

Operational Execution

  • Track work items and updates through Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • Deliver high-quality documentation with clear, stakeholder-friendly communication.

 

Qualifications (Required)

Experience

  • 5+ years in Cloud Security Engineering or Azure Automation
    • Securing Azure services (identity, networking, data protection, governance).
    • Automation using PowerShell, Python, ARM/Bicep, Azure CLI, or similar.
    • Implementing guardrails in DevOps pipelines.
  • 5+ years in Software Development & Secure Coding
    • Proficiency in C#, Python, or TypeScript.
    • Experience implementing secure coding standards.
    • Using SAST/DAST tools for code review and vulnerability remediation.
  • 3+ years performing Security Risk Assessments & Compliance Work
    • Threat modeling, risk analysis, and remediation tracking.
    • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001.
    • Ability to translate technical risks into business-level impact.

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
