Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support for qualification of Western Digital's Enterprise SSD products for Tier 1 OEM customers.
- Drive issue resolution working with internal engineering teams and customer account teams
- Analyze system and device FW issues via system and device logs, traces and other debug information to direct next steps leading to successful issue resolution
- Provide technical support for customer communication to explain technical investigation plan, progress, root cause and resolution plan, including direct communication with key customers, if required.
- Provide technical guidance to internal engineering teams to address new feature requirements, technical customer enquiries, and field failures related to FW issues
- Provide technical guidance to other members of the team in related areas
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university with 10 or more years of related experience.
- Customer facing experience in related area such as SSD or HDD technical support with key strategic customers
- Proven ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex technical problems.
- Familiarity with tools such as PCIe/NVMe analyzers, scope, laptop and desktop systems, storage devices such as HDDs and SSDs in client environments.
SKILLS:
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment with a demonstrated ability to work well with people.
You must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis.
