Job Title: Associate Director, US Forecasting – Medical Aesthetics
Job Location: Boston
The Associate Director, US Forecasting – Medical Aesthetics is responsible and accountable to lead all commercial forecasting initiatives for the Medical Aesthetics business unit that influence and drive key business decisions reflective of market and industry trends as well as customer behavior. This position is responsible for developing accurate and timely projections of commercial product volumes for all business planning and reporting processes. This role drives commercial forecasting and supports the company in understanding their target audience, competition and overall market conditions. The Associate Director will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build effective plans, execute on key deliverables and effectively report findings in a timely manner. This role must demonstrate the ability to work independently with a proactive approach to meet business needs and deadlines but must remain connected to the rest of the US team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dynamic, assumption driven models to be utilized in both Commercial and Supply Planning as well as Mid-Range Plan submissions (including market and competitive landscape forecasts) – using sound analytical assumptions and effective communication of rationale/methodology.
- Formulate key assumptions based on relevant data and work with cross-functional stakeholders to align on assumptions for multiple forecast scenarios.
- Leverage fact-based approaches and processes as inputs to forecasting, such as epidemiology, brand share estimation, market access dynamics, and competitive impacts.
- Works directly with Marketing, Market Access, Insights & Analytics, Finance, Supply Chain teams to address various business issues and provide solutions through analytical problem solving, defining risks and opportunities associated with the forecast.
- Lead commercial remit for supply planning including running and presenting in meetings, conducting multiple scenario analyses, and effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Track forecast accuracy and drive continuous improvements in forecast models and processes.
- Identify trends and opportunities within datasets to drive informed decision-making and performance improvements and impact on the demand/revenue forecast.
- Clearly articulate and frame the narrative and key messaging of monthly results compared to forecast
- Lead and influence stakeholders based on objective evidence (e.g., utilizing key data assessments as well as analog identification and application).
- Utilize and apply key market research insights and quantify financial impacts of marketing initiatives and competitive events.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access and Patient Services teams to analyze critical metrics, key performance indicators and derive key insights from trends in product performance.
- Provide analytics thought leadership and develop creative ad-hoc models to address commercial questions and needs.Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to implement HR strategies consistently across the business.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 5 or more years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, with 5+ years in analytic or consulting roles
- Forecasting experience required, leading launch forecasting initiatives.
- Solid understanding of Gross-to-Net and Managed Market contracting with the ability to work closely with Market Access team to understand impacts and connection points with demand forecasting.
- Experience with advanced spreadsheets, patient based forecast modeling including dynamic patient models.
- Hands on experience working with patient-level data as well as syndicated data offerings; specifically, Specialty Pharmacy SPDI, IQVIA LAAD, XPO, XPD, NPA, NSP (or similar offerings).
- Experience extracting data from commercial data warehouse and working with BI tools to communicate data insights in impactful and visual ways across multiple levels of the organization. <
