Job Overview

This per diem RN position has direct patient care responsibilities including provision of care for children with burn injuries, cleft lip & palate diagnoses, reconstructive burn patients in addition to numerous other skin conditions & disorders.

Specific responsibilities include patient assessment, expert burn/wound care, suture & stent removal, tissue expansion, medication administration, development of a plan of care using evidence based standards of practice, patient and family education, collaboration with medical/NP staff, care managers and other disciplines, telephone triage, lead nurse responsibilities and clinical documentation. 

Participation in nursing & hospital wide committees is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• The Per Diem Pediatric RN works as part of the Outpatient Clinic team to provide care to patients across all of our service lines.  We provide a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in delivery of family patient centered care. 
• In this position, you'll be responsible and accountable for the care provided to patients in the clinic during each shift.
• You'll utilize the nursing process to assess patients, plan care, interventions and evaluate outcomes. 
• You'll work alongside our physician team to assist with procedures and provide patient education. 
• Our Outpatient Clinic team enjoys a great quality of life with weekday schedules only...no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• BSN required 
• Three (3) years  minimum nursing experience; prior outpatient nursing experience preferred; burn/would care experience strongly preferred
• Per diem Requirements: 

• Will be available for one shift in a four week time period.
• It is an expectation that in order to maintain per diem status, one must keep all annual competencies up to date.
