The Tactical Communications Systems Engineering team is seeking a Secure Systems Engineer who has a passion for innovation and the drive to see new technology and capability matured into fielded solutions. This role will contribute to a team that is responsible for systems and cyber security engineering tasks related to our next generation security enabled Radio Systems and Cryptographic Systems, maturing product from low TRL through program of record accreditation and factory production.
Our team works alongside multiple hardware, FPGA, and software teams to seamlessly embed our advanced technology into several different products. The end goal is to keep our warfighters safe and secure and bring them home. This team works on a wide variety of innovative products, both new and existing, so it's not your typical repetitive workload.
What You Will Do:
Transform Complex Requirements: Decompose high-level system requirements into actionable sub-system specifications. Develop rigorous verification criteria and plans to ensure every detail aligns with objectives
Lead Innovative Projects: Drive the technical planning, integration, verification, and validation of cutting-edge cryptographic sub-systems. Balance the demands of cost and schedule while pushing the envelope in security technology
Execute Precision Testing: Design and implement thorough verification and test plans that meet and exceed system and security requirements. Your meticulous approach will ensure our solutions are robust and reliable
Empower Your Team: Enhance the team’s technical prowess through dedicated mentoring and coaching. Share your expertise to elevate collective skills and foster an environment of continuous improvement
Shape Future Technologies: Play a pivotal role in designing and developing groundbreaking products. Your contributions will help launch new innovations and open doors to emerging markets
Lead Cross-Functional Excellence: Guide a diverse team of software and systems engineers as they collaborate with various RTX business units. Together, you’ll develop mission-critical products that make an impact across industries
Pioneer with Quantum Resistance: Work on advanced quantum-resistant encryption algorithms, positioning our solutions at the forefront of secure communications technology
Communicate with Impact: Engage with a broad range of stakeholders, from customers and program managers to senior leadership. Your clear, effective communication will be key in aligning diverse perspectives and driving project success

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
