Pay Range: $35.50 Per Hour – Paid Bi-Weekly

Bonus eligible - $2.00 shift night differential

This position works independently to ensure timely, effective coverage of central engineering functions. The position also provides technical process support throughout the facilities and assists in maintenance personnel supervision. The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel, including the mechanically challenged, is of significant importance within this position.

The Unilever Covington factory is a 24/7 high paced dynamic work environment. We achieve goals through collaborative cross functional teams in the safe and quality delivery of finished goods across the shift they are leading. Making brands such as Klondike, Popsicle, Breyers, and Good Humor ice cream.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coach/train production employees in preventative maintenance functions and troubleshooting of machinery in order to reduce downtime and maximize efficiencies.
  •  Operate and maintain all engine room and other equipment including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, pumps, compressors, condensers, and electrical systems. Help develop and follow established standard operating procedures for safety, health, environment, and production.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and electrical problems, making changes as needed.
  • Provide ammonia engineering support.
  • Complete and file all required logging for ammonia system, hot work, engine room and other
  • records as required and complete engine room work orders, as necessary.
  • Help coordinate weekend maintenance functions including manufacturing and utilities.
  • Other activities as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. 
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to pass provided maintenance exam.
  • Certification in Ammonia related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Ability to become HAZWOPER certified.
  • Ability to work with and lead teams comprised of all personnel levels.
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Experience in the maintenance of ammonia refrigeration system is required
  • Read and understand instructions, procedures, and basic documentation
  • Write simple reports and emails with correct grammar and formatting
