As one of the world's leading automotive steering suppliers, Robert Bosch Automotive Steering LLC is growing in the market and must continue to innovate and develop new products to meet customer needs, especially in battery-electric and autonomous vehicles. Our engineering, technical purchasing, and sales teams are located in our Plymouth, MI office fully supporting regional customers and providing local support for global projects. The production facilities in Florence, KY and Querétaro, Mexico manufactures and administers products for the North America region.

Job Description

Tasks

  •  Perform 3D/2D modeling of mechanical systems
  •  Use CREO/Pro-E to develop Steering Systems in accordance with internal and industry design standards
  •  Work closely with component suppliers to create prototype and production designs, models, and drawings
  •  Troubleshoot bench testing and/or vehicle issues which can occur during development
  •  Work with Cross-functional Project Team to establish and maintain relationships at the OEM 
  •  Support all continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts
  •  Gain OEM approval of changes or deviations as required
  •  Up to 20% domestic & international travel to customer sites, Bosch sites, and supplier sites is required
  •  Comply with all Bosch processes within IATF-16949 standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics.
  • 1+ years experience in automotive development
  • 3+ years experience Fundamental 3D modeling and 2D drawing skills
  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing process of steel, aluminum and/or plastic components
  • 3+ years experience in APQP process for developing components for serial production

Preferred:

  • Steering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Preferably experience in CREO/Pro-E
  • Preferably experience in GD&T, DFMEA, DRBFM, DVP&R, DFSS, and VAVE activities
  •  Preferably experience in Agile and Lean methodologies
