Basic Purpose: The role of the Sr. IT Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize complex technical projects in support of the Stores & Food Service Technology teams, according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The role will work with Business and Technical representatives to define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
- Direct and manage multiple parallel business-critical projects from beginning to end.
- Demonstrate accountability for meeting milestones and delivering quality projects.
Project Management
- Define and manage project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans, timelines, and deliverables, including but not limited to: Q/A testing, end-user training, go-live readiness, and support.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Proficiency
- Partner with Business and Technical representatives to estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Complete Business Analysis tasks as required to support projects and tasks.
Risk Management
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
Analytical Skills
- Develop full-scale project plans, timelines, and deliverables, including but not limited to: Q/A testing, end-user training, go-live readiness, and support.
- Complete Business Analysis tasks as required to support projects and tasks.
Communication
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Conduct project postmortems and create lessons learned reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and establish recommendations for improvement.
Quality Control
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a technology-related field.
- 5-7 years of experience leading IT projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Hard Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with project management software such as Microsoft Project.
- Experience in developing use cases and conducting research into project-related issues and products.
- Strong knowledge of traditional/waterfall and agile project management principles, practices, and techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills.
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating needs assessments and budgets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present information in a user-friendly manner.
- Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a strong customer service orientation and strong follow-through.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
