AVP Copywriter

Overview

Creates content for all digital, print, video, web marketing collateral and maintains existing material in circulation. Develops high-quality content for a variety of marketing mediums, while closely adhering to compliance rules and brand standards. Collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Design team. Writes engaging and persuasive marketing materials, in the simplest form, that is easy to understand for multiple audiences in the banking industry.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Responsible for gaining product knowledge and understanding the financial industry, specific to, but not limited to, Fintech Solutions (Payments), Small Business Lending, Institutional Banking, Real Estate Bridge Lending and Commercial Fleet Leasing

Writes compelling creative copy for The Bancorp lines of business that highlights features, benefits and selling points to drive sales that also resonates with the target audience and aligns with the brand’s identity and values,

Creates engaging email copy for marketing campaigns to drive engagement and sales.

Optimizes website copy to improve user experience, conveys value propositions and drive conversions.

Develops conceptual work in coordination with the Director of Marketing and Design team for materials that are both strategic and on-brand.

Leverages market research and trending data to inform strategic direction, with a focus on crafting content that solidifies our position as the market leader.

Participates in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for marketing campaigns and initiatives to achieve business goals.

Reviews and edits copy for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style consistency to maintain brand voice.

Ensures that all marketing materials are within our compliance and legal standards prior to production/deployment and interface with the SME of these departments to work toward a common goal.

Facilitates program metrics with Director of Marketing to assess marketing programming effectiveness; make recommendations for modifications.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
• 7 years of marketing experience within banking/financial services company.

Preferred Requirements

• Writing, editing, and proofreading copy, having broad expertise in all forms of copywriting are critical for this position.
• Strong experience in direct response, lead generation and lead conversion programs.
• Demonstrated understanding of creative process and workflow, with samples of stellar work product.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook. Excels in presentation skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of a creative workflow process from concept through production.
• Overarching understanding of integrated marketing disciplines.
• Strong service orientation.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Team oriented, collaborator, open minded to all ideas, feedback, and suggestions.
• Strong time management qualifications.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving.
