Staff Accountant

Napster, the most iconic brand in music and the longest running independent music streaming service, is looking for a talented and entrepreneurial accountant to join our team. Napster kicked off the digital era more than 20 years ago and helped more than 100M fans have their first digital music experience. The company was taken private in 2022 by a group of top investors and is now creating the next generation music platform that connects artists and fans leveraging new disruptive technology like AI, Web3, and the blockchain.

The Staff Accountant assists with recurring monthly accounting close, handling sales and use tax, and responding to investor and regulator needs. The Staff Accountant reports to our Accounting Manager, and supports the 4 person Finance and Accounting team.

Requirements

1-3 years of professional experience as a staff accountant, preferably at a Big 4 accounting firm or venture-backed startup. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.

• Maintains, manages and files all sales and uses tax

• Assists with accounts payable processing

• Processes payments for vendors

• Assists with financial/tax audits

• Applies deposits to relevant invoices in accounting system

• Performs bank reconciliations

• Assists with annual 401k audit

• Prepares Journal Entries to assist team

• Assists with month-end close and year-end close activities

• Assists with preparation of investor materials and audit requests
