Semester: Fall 2026
The Lacy School of Business (LSB) at Butler University is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to support the school’s efforts in growing brand awareness, engaging key audiences, and elevating LSB’s national profile. This internship offers hands-on experience in social media, content creation, marketing campaigns, and communications strategy. Interns will gain professional experience while making a measurable impact on the school’s outreach to students, alumni, faculty, business leaders, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management & Analytics
- Create, curate, and schedule content for LSB’s social media platforms
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics to measure engagement and success
- Develop monthly social media plans based on insights and audience engagement
- Content Creation & Storytelling
- Write blog posts, student/alumni spotlights, and other web content for LSB’s microsite, The Lacy Ledger
- Conduct interviews with students, alumni, faculty, and staff for feature stories
- Draft and create content for email campaigns, newsletters, mailers, and LSB’s annual report
- Recommend content topics that align with LSB’s expertise and audience interests
- Website & Multimedia Support / Digital Marketing
- Assist with light graphic design and/or video editing for social media, web, and marketing materials
- Assist with the LSB website refresh, including drafting content, updating pages, and ensuring content is optimized for SEO
- Collaborate on website content strategy to improve visibility and audience engagement
- Event Support & Campaigns
- Support planning, promotion, and execution of LSB events and campaigns
- Propose content ideas and campaigns to expand LSB’s reach and engagement
- General Marketing & Communications Projects
- Contribute to broader marketing and communications projects as assigned
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure alignment with LSB branding and goals
Learning Outcomes & Professional Development:
- Gain practical experience in social media strategy, content creation, and brand storytelling
- Develop skills in written and visual communication, multimedia production, and stakeholder engagement
- Learn to analyze social media metrics and create data-driven content plans
- Receive mentorship and feedback from marketing professionals to refine your skills
- Build a professional portfolio of work demonstrating measurable impact
Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or related fields
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail
- Basic skills in graphic design (Canva, Adobe Suite) or video editing
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
- Junior or Senior enrolled in LSB401 or LSB402 Internship Course
- GPA 3.0 or above
