CNC Machining & Programming Specialist

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity (Eligibility after 90 days)
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with Saturday hours from 6:00 AM–12:00 PM as needed (approximately 56 hours per week)
Starting Pay: From $33.00 per hour (higher starting pay available based on experience)

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machining & Programming Specialist to manufacture precision industrial components. This position combines CNC programming, machine setup, and machining responsibilities while producing high-quality parts that meet demanding tolerances.

The ideal candidate has experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret machining blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines.
  • Create and edit G-code programs to support machining operations.
  • Work with CNC controls such as Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain (experience with every control is not required).
  • Machine parts to close tolerances, including measurements as precise as 0.0005 inch.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
  • Use tools such as:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Dial bore gauges
    • Produce accurate, high-quality machined parts while meeting production requirements.
    • Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
    • Lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
    • Maintain dependable attendance and work scheduled overtime, including Saturdays when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment.
  • Experience with CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Ability to read and interpret machining blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of G-code programming.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining techniques and quality standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, or Heidenhain CNC controls
  • Experience machining industrial equipment or custom manufactured components
  • Familiarity with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and dial bore gauges
