Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer IV for the Carolinas to be based in Columbia, SC or one of our other Carolinas offices (Charleston, SC; Greenville, SC; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC).  As a Senior Civil Engineer IV with growing technical expertise and experience in demanding design driven projects, you will work with interdisciplinary teams on High Tech and Logistics Projects in a Programmatic approach.  We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options. Our South Carolina teams focus on providing design services in the Industrial and High Tech and Logistics market for projects such as data centers, logistics centers, and industrial facilities.


Job Summary/Responsibilities
The Senior Civil Engineer will work on High Tech, Logistics Industrial facility and similar projects that are designed in the South Carolina Regional B+P group, with a focus on the civil aspects of the design including grading, drainage, and utilities. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
  • Performs interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and identifies discrepancies in results
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
